Salvo Technologies Achieves AS9100 Registration
Seminole, FL—Salvo Technologies Inc., a leading technology-based private equity group, is pleased to announce that its Seminole, Florida facility is now AS9100 Registered. Maintained by SAE International, AS9100 is a key quality management standard for the aerospace industry. Applied on a location by location basis, AS9100 encompasses the ISO 9001 standard, augmented by other application specific safety and quality criteria. Salvo Technologies encompasses four business units that deliver a range of high tech products and services, including design, fabrication, and assembly of optics, electro-optics, and systems; electronic; thin and thickfilm coatings; and personal protective equipment. In addition to the Salvo Technologies corporate headquarters, the Seminole location houses development, manufacturing, assembly, and test operations for other Salvo Technologies business units, including Salvo Coatings, Salvo Defense, Salvo Electro-Optics (Salvo EO), and 4D Tactical. The organizations achieved compliance and will maintain it in cooperation with Salvo EO, which has been AS9100 registered at a previous location. Registration affirms that processes follow specified quality management best practices to ensure that products manufactured at the location will meet or exceed customer expectations. “Although we have previously demonstrated ISO 9001 compliance in our main production facility, we recognize that in today’s demanding marketplace, ISO 9001 alone is not enough,” said Eric Mackey, quality manager, Salvo Technologies. “To compete effectively as a vertically integrated franchise, our organization as a whole needs to operate at the highest standards of quality.” NQA performed the final audits in early 2015. Salvo Technologies also maintains International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance.
